Back To Business

It has been two weeks since re-opening after Covid-19 hit and caused us all to go into lock-down and it is fair to say we are so happy to be back and doing what we love and do best.

It has been far from easy preparing for the new guidelines imposed by the government especially as we didn’t really know what was going to be expected of us until a few days before opening. However, we have done it and are managing to get back into the swing of things, albeit with extra headgear and loads more hours.

The government have stated that stylists should wear a clear visor that covers the forehead, extends below the chin and wraps around the face. The visors are in addition to the usual PPE we use when carrying out treatments. In addition and after the new advice this week, we will be insisting on clients wearing face masks.

We also must not under estimate the most effective methods of preventing transmission of the virus, which is social distancing and regular hand washing.  That is why we provide hand sanitiser and have reduced the number of clients in the salon at any one time.

We have compiled a list of some additional guidelines that we should make you all aware of.

  • Appointments will be pre-booked only so no walk-ins, including consultations and skin tests.
  • No refreshments serviced, please bring your own.
  • Please bring and wear a mask.
  • Please wash your hands as soon as you arrive.
  • No magazines will be provided so make sure your phones are charged.
  • If you have any symptoms or have been asked to self-isolate, please re-arrange your appointment.

We would like to say a special thank you to all our clients who have been patient and kind and remained loyal to us here at Trend.

As the situation hopefully improves we will update you on any changes and continue to keep up to date with any new guidelines.

Stay safe everyone and hope to see you all soon!

Silver Ombre can be achieved with Hair Extensions

Silver Ombre is asked for more frequently than any other colour at the moment. Or it seems that way at least. I was super excited to receive our new colour ring for our Indian Remy Hair Extensions which included this very popular colour. Give a couple of weeks notice and we will have your new silver coloured hair fitted for you with no trouble at all.

You must realise the natural hair will be lifted to the lightest blonde possible to achieve the silver tone to match the extensions. It is imperative the colour is done professionally and only after a consultation to see if your hair is suitable. A hair extension  technician at Trend Hair will tell you what is needed to get your hair to your silver shade.

Your hair is dark or has a build up of colour? It is not likely that the silver will be achieved in one go. We all love to have the latest Trends but it needs to be remembered that above anything else, the condition of the natural hair should not be compromised.

One of the great things about hair extensions is that the colour does not tend to fade unlike natural hair. So once you have your chosen trendy hue it does not need to be topped up every time you wash your hair. Although I can’t say that is the same for your own hair I’m afraid.

Add dark roots to give an Ombre affect. This colour will really turn heads. Complete some Trend Hair Extensions to complete this amazing and striking look..

Our fusion bonded hair extensions in indian remy start from £320. A really affordable price for hair that is long, thick and fabulous.

Call us at the salon if you have any requirements for hair extensions or natural hairdressing. We can find a solution that fits everyone. 01494 441900

Rita Ora Pastel Dip Dye

Celebrity Pastel Dip-Dye

We may be forgiven for thinking “crazy colours” are a thing of the past but with celebrities like Demi Lovato, Christina Aguilera and now Rita Ora showing off the funky but strangely sophisticated looking pastel dip-dye look, it seems that anyone can experiment with some amazing head turning colours.

Pastels seem to be the way forward instead of the strong, vibrant tones of the previous couple of years and with pastel Ombre allowing a more versatile approach to using these colours, it doesn’t matter what your skin tone is, we can all pull off this bank on Trend look.

Trend Hair Extensions can help achieve Celebrity Pastel Dip-Dye finish with or without hair extensions. Give us a call to discuss..

There’s a definite chill in the air and autumn has finally arrived.

Remember Trend Hair Extensions can colour your hair extensions to give you the perfect warm hues for Autumn Hair – just ask for details.

Best Hair Extensions

I have noticed that this is a question asked on a regular basis.

“What are the best hair extensions?”

There isn’t a straight forward answer to this question im afraid but there are a few things that should be taken into consideration when choosing the right person to fit your extensions.

Hair is probably the most important thing that makes a woman feel confident so first and foremost you must check that the hair extensionist has got substantial qualifications and experience?

I believe that they should also be a qualified hairdresser as hair extensions are a specialist field and require a lot of basic hairdressing knowledge in order to give you the best results.

Check that they have got a nationally recognised qualification e.g NVQ or City & Guilds and ask to see insurance documents. You will be surprised how many people are working without insurance. We as hair specialists are providing a service and you have the right to make sure you are being looked after properly.

There are many hair extensionists out there that believe that fitting hair extensions is a great way to earn money. My motivation is not money, it is because I love making women feel great!

What is Remy hair

Remy Hair means hair that is cuticle correct.

It has been taken directly from the donor’s head and preserved to ensure all the cuticles are healthy and facing in equal direction. It’s important for the cuticles to face the same direction to protect the hair shaft which will prevent tangling when becoming static.

Trend Hair extensions offer two types of Remy hair. Single-drawn and Double-drawn. The difference being that Single-drawn hair has been sourced from one donor and double drawn is made up from different sources enabling all the hairs to be the same length.

Although the Double-drawn hair is thicker and fuller from root to tip, the single drawn is an overall more consistent and natural look.

It all comes down to personal choice as to which type of Remy hair the client likes but rest assured both are a high quality grade of hair.

Sleek Bun Trend

I said I would update you on the biggest trending hair style at Vfest. I was surprised to see less of the long flowing locks with hippie style plaits that we normally associate with festivals. Instead everywhere I looked there were buns! Neat, slicked back and pulled tight to the head.

In India, it is common for female college professors to wear their hair in a bun, in order to identify with their profession and in China double buns, called Ox Horns, are often seen when traditional attire is worn.

Although practical and smart, the bun is not really the most flattering for everyone. It normally suits, oval or round face shapes but it can be adapted in many different ways.

The current trend is sleek and neat, almost like the “ballet bun” but if you have a square face shape, or want something softer, maybe try a chignon. The word “chignon” comes from the French phrase “chignon du cou,” which means nape of the neck. Chignons are generally achieved by pinning the hair into a knot at the nape of the neck and by leaving some of the hair out and creating some soft curls around the front, this type of bun can be more versatile and suit most face shapes.

Best And Worst Hair Extentions On CBB

For some reason I ended up watching Celebrity Big Brother last night and as with most of the time, I ended up studying everyone’s hair.

I can usually spot hair extensions a mile off and to be honest these days it is not difficult as nearly all celebrities have them and can indulge £1000’s to have them.

During the Celeb Big Brother launch and entries into the house, it was clear that most of the women celebrities had hair extensions.

My favourite was Sophie Anderton. Her hair looked amazing and shows that hair additions don’t need to be worn extra long to have a great affect. They looked natural, glossy and age appropriate 🙂

Charlotte Cosby looked fab as a brunette and her hair extensions looked great too.. However, I’m wondering how good they will look after some time in the house when they haven’t been professionally washed and styled.

I felt quite sorry for Courtney Stodden. For a girl that takes so much pride in her appearance, I was shocked that the bonds were clearly showing through her natural hair and the hair itself looked knotty, fake and static… This is after spending probably at least 2 hours in hair and make-up…Maybe Trend Hair Extensions should get in touch and give her a natural but glam look she can be proud of….

Ombre Hair Extensions

This very popular Trend has derived from dip-dye and doesn’t seem to be going anywhere.

Judging by the amount of celebrities still wearing this look, I think it will still be going strong way into the autumn/winter months.

Jessica Alba,  J-Lo and Mischa-Barton have all worn the ombre look and have shown the different variations that can be achieved.

If you think ombre is not for you, why not try it out by adding slightly lighter or golden tones to the ends of your hair, or if you dare, you can go for shocking colours or the very fashion-forward pastel’s.

The options are endless and I think that is why this diverse trend will be around for a little while yet.

Here is a natural sunkist ombre look that I created by using hair extensions. The blonde bonds were placed underneath the natural hair which meant my client didn’t have a single spot of bleach.

So whether it is texture and glamour or the shock and wow factor you are after, give it a go..its a look that is definitely on Trend for this summer..

Hair Trends

The last few months have been a busy time for me. I recently completed my level III hair extensions course, launched my new web-site and re branded my company.

I’m really happy with the results and it was worth all the hard work.

The course I went on was totally inspiring and it has made me realise how important it is to keep up to date with current “Hair Trends” and changes within the hair and fashion industry.

Top fashion houses will determine what we all wear and how we have our hair months before we  have any idea. I wonder where they get their inspiration from!

In Versace’s Autumn/Winter 2013 collection Donatella Versace presented a sexy punk feel with studs, tight fitted vinyl and staples.  Here I decided  to create my own punk hair style below:

The orange flashes of colour are hair extensions or additions as we like to call them now. They show that extensions don’t always have to be about long hair, they can be used to create interest to any hair style without having to bleach or colour your natural hair..

It’s great to experiment with hair extensions and try to do something a bit different 🙂
