It has been two weeks since re-opening after Covid-19 hit and caused us all to go into lock-down and it is fair to say we are so happy to be back and doing what we love and do best.
It has been far from easy preparing for the new guidelines imposed by the government especially as we didn’t really know what was going to be expected of us until a few days before opening. However, we have done it and are managing to get back into the swing of things, albeit with extra headgear and loads more hours.
The government have stated that stylists should wear a clear visor that covers the forehead, extends below the chin and wraps around the face. The visors are in addition to the usual PPE we use when carrying out treatments. In addition and after the new advice this week, we will be insisting on clients wearing face masks.
We also must not under estimate the most effective methods of preventing transmission of the virus, which is social distancing and regular hand washing. That is why we provide hand sanitiser and have reduced the number of clients in the salon at any one time.
We have compiled a list of some additional guidelines that we should make you all aware of.
Appointments will be pre-booked only so no walk-ins, including consultations and skin tests.
No refreshments serviced, please bring your own.
Please bring and wear a mask.
Please wash your hands as soon as you arrive.
No magazines will be provided so make sure your phones are charged.
If you have any symptoms or have been asked to self-isolate, please re-arrange your appointment.
We would like to say a special thank you to all our clients who have been patient and kind and remained loyal to us here at Trend.
As the situation hopefully improves we will update you on any changes and continue to keep up to date with any new guidelines.
It has been a while since our last blog entry so apologies for that. Here are some salon updates for you.
The first part of the year in Trend Hair Salon has been very busy. We have plans to expand to Marlow whilst also keeping the High Wycombe salon. Unfortunately we have not managed to find an appropriate space as yet but it has given us the time to spend all our efforts on the High Wycombe branch at Crendon Street.
We have taken on new members of staff bringing exciting treatments to Trend including eyelash extensions, gel nails and spray tans. Look out for our glamour packages coming soon and come to our “one stop glamour” salon. Get ready for weddings, hen and sten doos and dare I say it, Christmas parties.
We are currently running a promotion on our classic and 3D eyelash extensions. For a limited period only you can treat yourself to a full set of classic lashes for £45 or 3D lashes for £65. A huge saving of £20 each set. Please make sure you book early as it is first come first served.
SO WHAT ELSE IS NEW?
UpTan Tropics are joining the team mid August and are using Bondi Sands tanning products. We are very excited to offer another service to give our lovely Trenders’ an all over fresh and natural look. Look out for offers and packages coming soon.
September will bring gel nails. Why not get a manicure or pedicure while having your hair extensions fitted or waiting for your colour develop? It is amazing how much time we can spend on getting our essential hair and beauty treatments. Sometimes our busy lifestyles can make it a hinderance rather than a treat. How great will it be getting all your beauty needs in one place. We look forward to seeing you all soon.
Whether you are growing out a shorter style or want to give your long hair a good healthy snip or makeover, the Lob is very On Trend!
Celebrities such as Holly Willoughby, Caroline Flack and Sienna Miller show very well how flattering and versatile this style is. Wavy or straight, with or without a fringe, the important thing to remember is that the Lob needs to be thick and chunky. If your hair is not thick enough to achieve the blunt lines necessary to pull this look off, then have a think about using hair extensions to add the volume that you need to create this sassy look.
As I have previously stated, extensions don’t need to add length every time, they can enhance a style, to add colour or volume. Lets try and get creative with our hair, try something different that will give us a completely new look for the new year.
My preferred method to achieve the Lob is by using Tape Weft. By adding small strips of ultra fine hair to the natural hair, a thicker more luxurious style is reached. Affordable and quick and easy, this method will last 4- 6 weeks before requiring some maintenance.
If you want to try something different but still hold on to your sexy locks, the Lob is the perfect way to give a “new you” a go as we believe this style can work for anyone.
Care does need to be taken by the stylist not to take too much length off thus creating a bob rather than a lob. Although the bob is classic in its style, if too short can be quite ageing and does not necessarily suit everyone.
We at Trend Hair Extensions have created quite a few lobs’ towards the end of last year and into the beginning of 2018. Lets hope that this style continues to be popular as it really is very versatile.
Hi all, Ive just about got around to talking a bit more about our “Hair Extension Courses”. We are running these at Trend Hair Salon in High Wycombe.
To run the courses
To begin with I achieved a NVQ level 3 in Hair Extensions. In addition I took teachers qualification. Once passed I had enough qualifications and experience to become a teacher in the field I love the most. After designing and developing a course that I was happy with It was approved by HABIA (Hair and Beauty Industry Authority)
In order to offer a high quality course and increase the standard of hair extensions application for potential clients, We offer an informative and well run educational program. In addition we insist that the students hold a recognised certificate in hair dressing or are working towards one. This enables us to get straight to the important part of the hair extensions training. As a result our students will feel competent and confident in the skills that are passed on by us.
This two day course consists of one day (the first day) theory where we will cover:
Health and Safety procedures
Safe Working Practices
Second day will enable the student to showcase their skills by applying a head of extensions on a model.
The successful students will have enough knowledge and skills to work freelance or in a salon due to the high standard of training. Additionally, newly qualified hair extension technicians will know they are able to purchase good quality hair from the place they trained. Trend Hair Extensions are there to continue to offer support and advice to their students.
If you are interested in taking part in one of our training courses, please request a booking form via email: email@example.com or calling 01494441900
Silver Ombre is asked for more frequently than any other colour at the moment. Or it seems that way at least. I was super excited to receive our new colour ring for our Indian Remy Hair Extensions which included this very popular colour. Give a couple of weeks notice and we will have your new silver coloured hair fitted for you with no trouble at all.
You must realise the natural hair will be lifted to the lightest blonde possible to achieve the silver tone to match the extensions. It is imperative the colour is done professionally and only after a consultation to see if your hair is suitable. A hair extension technician at Trend Hair will tell you what is needed to get your hair to your silver shade.
Your hair is dark or has a build up of colour? It is not likely that the silver will be achieved in one go. We all love to have the latest Trends but it needs to be remembered that above anything else, the condition of the natural hair should not be compromised.
One of the great things about hair extensions is that the colour does not tend to fade unlike natural hair. So once you have your chosen trendy hue it does not need to be topped up every time you wash your hair. Although I can’t say that is the same for your own hair I’m afraid.
Add dark roots to give an Ombre affect. This colour will really turn heads. Complete some Trend Hair Extensions to complete this amazing and striking look..
Our fusion bonded hair extensions in indian remy start from £320. A really affordable price for hair that is long, thick and fabulous.
Call us at the salon if you have any requirements for hair extensions or natural hairdressing. We can find a solution that fits everyone. 01494 441900
We may be forgiven for thinking “crazy colours” are a thing of the past but with celebrities like Demi Lovato, Christina Aguilera and now Rita Ora showing off the funky but strangely sophisticated looking pastel dip-dye look, it seems that anyone can experiment with some amazing head turning colours.
Pastels seem to be the way forward instead of the strong, vibrant tones of the previous couple of years and with pastel Ombre allowing a more versatile approach to using these colours, it doesn’t matter what your skin tone is, we can all pull off this bank on Trend look.
I get asked on a daily basis how to style hair extensions and I have to let my clients know that it is fairly easy and not really any different to styling natural hair, so Its been nice to see the recent Summer Hair Trends involve long hair styles that are fairly easy to create.
Remember the 80’s?……. well crimping is back! and if you don’t own a crimper, just loosely tie fine plaits in hair that has been rough dried to 80% dry and leave in until ready to unleash the wild one. Crimping can add body to fine hair too but if you want a slightly tamer version, crimp only some small sections of hair and then tie back into a pony.
This is a fun, easy and current trend that we can all have a go at creating ourselves. Fabulous at festivals and summer BBQ’s

I suppose we hit the ground running in the first couple of weeks of opening. My expectations were exceeded with regards to the amount of interest in the salon but unfortunately due to illness our first month wasn’t as we had planned. Luckily, despite the odd day when the salon had to be closed, this hasn’t seemed to affect business too much.
We are now in full swing and back to work hopefully without any interruptions…
The location in Crendon Street, High Wycombe has been super great for us as there is a good flow of traffic going passed the salon and our beautiful chandelier in the window is getting us noticed 😉
Parking nearby is at Easton Street, The Swan Car Park or Castle Street. All three are a two minute walk away and what with the sun doing its best to shine these days, a short, brisk walk is no real problem.
Earlier in February, Trend Hair Extensions chose to support “Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research” as their charity and will be holding various charity events throughout the year. The big one being “Tough Mudder” – a 10 mile Obstacle course that will really test our strength and stamina. It will be worth all the pain for a fantastic cause. Thankfully this is not until September so plenty of time to get ready…
Continuously our most popular method of hair extensions has been fusion bonded. We believe this is due to the longevity and flexibility of this type and also clients are not as aware of the benefits of the other methods.
One thing our clients can be sure of though is that Trend Hair Extensions will always find an appropriate, safe method for their hair type and lifestyle.
Thought I would update you on our recent progress.
The last couple of weeks have been manic but when I think about what has actually been achieved in this short time, I feel quite proud and excited at the same time.
Highlight of the week was the shop sign being fitted. I felt quite emotional once I could see the Trend Hair Extension logo above the window, made it seem very real. As you can see by the image, there is still some work to do on the outside of the building but you can get the idea of the style we are going for. I want our clients to feel comfortable and look forward to spending time in there.
Now we have a town presence, I have noticed the community feel and positive comments from other business owners in the area. It has been quite uplifting and inspiring to meet other shop owners, hear their stories and take some advise off people that are further down the line.
For the next week or so, our time will be spent dressing the salon with mirrors, shelves, pictures and finishing off the lighting. We hope to be open by the end of next week.
